PILATES

Pilates are a number of exercises developed by Joseph Pilates that are aimed at strengthening, stretching and balancing the entire body. The exercises usually take place on the mat. Pilates works from the body center (in Pilates terminology this is your 'powerhouse'), which is supported by a correct breathing pattern. The exercises are focused on your lower back, abdomen, pelvis and gluteal muscles making your powerhouse stronger. During the lessons you learn to strengthen, extend and relax your muscles through subtle movements.

HATHA YOGA

Hatha Yoga is the traditional form of yoga that most people know. The focus is on calm, regular breathing and strengthening & smoothing your body in static poses (no flow). At Hatha you hold different postures a little longer and you learn the alignment and awareness of the specific postures.

YIN YOGA

Yin Yoga is a calm meditative form of yoga in which postures are retained for a longer period of time. Unlike other forms of yoga, in which the muscles are tightened and/or activated to get into a posture, you release the muscles in this form of yoga and focus on the deeper connective tissues and joints. This shape is very suitable for deep movements, but also for relaxing. Even if you just don't feel like an active flow or if you have an injury or want to rehabilitate, Yin Yoga is a very good choice.
